Hosting and access logs

Our hosting provider is IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. Your browser sends your IP address and technical request information to the server so it can deliver this website.

According to IONOS, its Webhosting service records requested pages, access times, referring pages, browser and device information, and anonymised IP addresses. IONOS states that visitor data is retained for eight weeks and is not transferred outside the EU. This processing serves the reliable and secure operation of the website, based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. See IONOS’s Webhosting data information.

Hosting statistics and cookies

IONOS provides WebAnalytics statistics as part of its hosting service. IONOS describes this as cookie-free statistical processing with IP addresses anonymised after transmission. Its default logging and statistics support technical optimisation. Where personal data is processed for these purposes, the basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. See IONOS’s WebAnalytics information.

The website’s own code sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers or browser storage. Fonts and book illustrations are served from this website. There are no embedded social feeds, videos or third-party font services.

If you email us

We use your email address, message and any details you provide to respond to your enquiry. Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) where your enquiry concerns a contract or steps you request before a contract. Our email service provider also handles the message to deliver and store it.

Correspondence is retained while needed to handle your enquiry and any related follow-up, then deleted unless a legal retention duty applies. In that case, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR applies for the required period. Providing contact details is voluntary, but we need a way to reply if you want a response.

Your choices and rights

Where the legal conditions apply, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability of your data. You may object, on grounds relating to your situation, to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact the email address above to exercise these rights.

You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including one in your place of residence, work or the alleged infringement. There is no automated decision-making or profiling by this website. The European Commission explains your data protection rights.
